Summer may be nearly over, but that doesn’t mean you need to stop having fun. California is ripe for the picking this time of year with numerous activities and sights to see. Here are some of our favorite things to do in our home state of California:
Named after the ancient trees that inhabit it, this park is a must-see for campers, hikers, and nature lovers. The giant trees are just one of the amazing sights in the park which are full of beautiful scenery and fun activities for the whole family.
As one of the most famous not-for-profit zoos in America, the San Diego Zoo is home to over 650 species of wildlife. Take the family to the zoo and experience the animal kingdom like you’ve never seen it before.
If you’re planning a trip to San Francisco, make sure you schedule some time to visit Alcatraz. As one of the most famous prisons in the world, Alcatraz Island has been the setting of many films and books.
Take a tour of this historic site and see what it was really like for criminals back in the day. On the ferry ride back to the city you’ll be able to take in the best views of the harbor and be thankful that you get to come home.
Big Sur is over 90 miles of stellar coastline. For an extended day trip full of wonderful sites and interesting rest stops, take a drive down Big Sur. You won’t regret it!
Venice Beach is the epitome of West Coast cool. With buskers, vendors and food booths, the beach is a great spot to hang out on a hot summer afternoon. Take in the beach with rollerblades, biking or walking. Whatever is cool to you!
The American River is the ideal location for some summer rafting. Instructors take into account your experience and skill level to get you on the right path for a ride that is sure to raise your hair and get your heart rate up.
If the idea of going to Disney and waiting in lines does not sound appealing, but you’d like to experience a theme park in California, might we suggest Legoland? There’s something for everyone here with attractions, mini golf and even Minitown, USA. Legoland is the perfect theme park for the kid in all of us.
California is home to some of the most incredible craft breweries in the country. Take a beer tour and learn how beer is made while also sampling some terrific food and even better beer.
Many Californians prefer to visit Lake Tahoe during the winter, but summertime also has many activities to offer! The clear blue water of the lake is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, sunbathing, water-skiing, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. No matter what your outdoor summer interest, Lake Tahoe has it all.
If you think Napa Valley’s wine country is for adults only. Think again. Sure there are plenty of activities that appeal more to grown-ups rather than children, but Napa is also full of amazing sights and kid-friendly wineries that have a little something for everyone. While in Napa visit the Petrified Forest, geysers, and safari tour too!

We are very satisfied with their service. Erick is very easy to deal with. He constantly update us regarding his arrival time. We had a floor leak to which he is supposed to detect the slab leak. At the moment he arrived at our place, my husband already found the leak so we don't need his services. We are willing to pay Erick a dispatch fee but he said don't worry about it. He also gave us some advises about how to deal with our leaks. He is very professional. Will definitely use Dial One Soneshine again. Han C.
Eric did and excellent job he was fast polite and courteous. I highly recommend the service of this company. The respond in a timely manner. Phil D.

Having moved to the OC recently, we were in need of an HVAC electrician. We found Dial One Sonshine online and called to set up an appointment. Dustin arrived on time and proceeded to replace our old thermostat with a new one. Once it was installed, he checked to see that everything (heat, A/C, fan only) worked properly. We were so happy with the results that we signed up for an annual checkup for the furnace (fall) and air conditioner (spring). Count us among the many satisfied customers Chuck R.
John was amazing and totally helped us out. Nicole was curtious when I called to make the appointment and very helpful. Melinda called us 30 minutes before John showed up, letting us know he was on his way. Perfect service! Michelle L
Shawn from Dial One was awesome as always, on time and always a pleasure to work with. If you need service for HVAC, your water heater, call Dial One. Branden B.
Dustin quickly diagnosed the problem, but, unfortunately the solution required an expensive induction motor replacement. Dustin located the correct part and promised to return that day. True to his word, he returned that day and replaced the faulty part. This is the second time I've used Dial One. Previously, Shawn had performed the service. In both cases the service guys were knowledgeable, polite to the point of solicitousness, and were genuinely interested in solving the problem and delivering top notch service. T. H.
Excellent service and very friendly, professional technician named Dustin. I would absolutely refer Dial One Sonshine to service your heating/air system! Thank you Deborah B.
I'll definitely be using Dial One Sonshine for future plumbing, Heating, A/C, and electrical needs in the future, and recommend you consider giving them a chance to earn your business as well! Don S.
